Kimberly Ward, RN

My name is Kimberly Ward. I am a RN and have been traveling with Response 1 for the last 6 months, but have been a travel nurse for the last year with 2 different companies. Since I love to travel nationally and internationally I thought travel nursing would be the career field for me. Since I have worked with Response 1 I have found a great company, owned by a talented person and staffed by wonderful people. This is where I want to be!

When I initially contacted Response 1, I was blown away by the helpfulness of the person answering the phone. My recruiter presented a good overall picture of what Response 1 offered for pay rates, housing, and benefits. I was so impressed because no matter what I needed, housing, which allows pets, more housing allowance, different insurance, the opportunities were all there for me.

On my original assignment, the first weekend I found myself placed in a difficult situation between a Doctor and the good of my patient, without support. I ended up making the Doctor angry. The next morning I called to notify my recruiter of the situation. Expecting to get voice-mail, I found myself speaking with her directly. She was compassionate and understanding about the situation, I found myself relaxing and was able to go to sleep assured I still had a job.

Since my assignment was close to Sacramento I was able to make a visit to the office of Response 1, where I was greeted like a celebrity. Everyone in the office took time out of their schedule to stop and talk with me, welcoming me to their family. Each person assured me if I needed anything, to contact the office and they would help in any way they could. I have put that promise to good use and still find compassionate, helpful people on the other end of the phone.

I have been a traveling nurse with Response 1 Medical Staffing since January of 2005 and have contracted with four hospitals through them. Response 1 has taken care of me by personally knowing the hospitals and area they send me to. If I want extra hours they will work with the hospital or make arrangements with nearby hospitals. In addition, the benefits package is personally customized to meet MY needs.

My name Meuy (May) Lee. I love to travel and make LOTS of money at same time. Taking the first step to be a traveling nurse was pretty scary. Of course, you all these unanswered questions and concerns….(i.e. housing expenses, car rentals, guaranteed hours, getting paid on time, health benefits, etc). Kathy Kauffman, RN

I have been a traveling nurse with Response 1 Medical Staffing since June 2004 and worked at 2 different hospitals with them. I know that when I go to a new facility with Response 1, there are no surprises and my assignments, as well as my housing are always great. The money is great with Response 1 and there is no other company I can travel with and make the kind of money I do here in California. I have been able to do lots of things I wouldn't have been able to do if I didn't work for Response 1 Medical Staffing. For instance, I am able to afford to do lots of traveling on my days off, I have taken vacations, and I have been able to go home to Missouri about every 6 weeks to see my family. My recruiter is the best part of this company and I like how she stands behind what she tells me. If she offers a 'too good to be true' deal she does not back down on what she originally offered me. I have been traveling since 2001 and unfortunately I have had this happen to me several times with other companies. They give you great numbers but when the contract comes out it's all different. That is how came to Response 1 initially. My recruiter made me the same deal that another company had made, but the difference she put it on paper. Since then, I have referred several other nurses to her for she is a very good recruiter. When you have a problem all you have to do is call her and she is on it. In a very short time she will have your problem fixed or have a answer for you. There is no waiting days and then never getting a true fix for my problem like with other companies. I would recommend any good, quality nurse to this company as they are the only company to travel with in California. They have a number of great assignments and if they don't have where you want they will try to get you sometime that you want. The housing allowances and the meals and incidental program is great. This allows you to make the most money. Their referral program is excellent, which I have collected a few times. Another good thing is I have been to educational programs that they have paid for. They encourage education and keeping up in your profession.
